Hannah and Euan were married at Schivas Steading at the end of August, one of those late-summer days where everything feels bright, busy and full of life.
Hannah is best known to many as an Olympic swimmer, but on this day there was no spotlight, no arena, just friends, family and a genuinely relaxed celebration. It was refreshing in that way. The focus was completely on the two of them and the people around them.
The ceremony took place at 1pm, led by Eddie McKenna, and lasted around 35 minutes. Hannah was walked down the aisle by her dad, Patrick, and with around 100 guests there, it had that great mix of intimacy and proper atmosphere. Confetti followed in the courtyard, which quickly filled with hugs, laughter and plenty of noise in the best way.
One of the highlights was the dogs being involved. Poppy stepped up as ring bearer, always a bold move, but worth it, and Mylo, still only six months old, made appearances where she could. There’s always a bit of unpredictability with animals, but that’s part of what makes it feel real.
After drinks, guests were called in around 3.15pm to be seated for dinner. Numbers shifted through the day, 60 for the meal and more joining later, which gave it that steady build from relaxed afternoon to full evening party.
Family played a big part throughout, and there was real care taken to make sure everyone was comfortable and included. Those quieter in-between moments often end up meaning just as much as the bigger ones.
As the evening kicked in, the dancefloor filled quickly. With a live band, ice cream later on, and the courtyard still holding onto that end-of-summer light, it had that proper wedding energy, fun, busy, and full of life.
Schivas suits that kind of celebration perfectly. It handles big numbers well but still keeps things feeling personal.
