Martin and Justin’s winter wedding at Drumtochty Castle was calm, thoughtful, and quietly full of feeling, the kind of day that doesn’t try to be anything other than what it is.
With both grooms getting ready at the castle, the morning felt unhurried. Before the ceremony, we headed up the Cairn O’ Mount for couple photos while the day was still quiet. The January light and open landscape gave us the space to create something relaxed and natural, setting the tone for everything that followed.
The ceremony took place at Drumtochty itself, with both Martin and Justin being walked down the aisle by their mothers, a moment that immediately grounded the day. Surrounded by close family and friends, it felt intimate and personal without being formal or overworked.
Speeches were held later in the afternoon in the Gold Room, with everyone crowded in close. It was warm, informal, and full of energy, exactly the right setting. With family travelling from different countries, holding speeches during the reception meant everyone could be part of it, and the room felt completely engaged.
After the speeches, I left the celebrations as guests made their way through to dinner, with the ballroom set and ready for the evening ahead. A quiet, fitting end to a genuinely lovely day.
