Ilaria and Gary’s wedding at Kildrummy Inn was small, personal, and properly easy going, the kind of day where everything feels centred around family rather than a tight schedule.
The morning started in two different places, with Ilaria getting ready at the Inn and Gary over at Kirkton Farmhouse. It gave the day a nice balance, with two calm build-ups before everyone came together later on.
Kildrummy Inn is a place I’m always happy to be back at. I’ve photographed a lot of weddings there over the years, and it never really changes how good it feels to work in. David and Sophie do an incredible job with the place, it’s welcoming, relaxed, and run with so much care. The hospitality is always spot on, and the food is consistently brilliant, which makes such a difference to how a wedding day flows.
The ceremony took place at the Inn, with Ilaria being walked down the aisle by her dad. With just 44 guests, it felt intimate and unrushed, no confetti, no big set pieces, just a focus on the people who mattered most.
The afternoon rolled naturally into drinks and time spent with family, with kids running about and everyone settling into the day. Speeches came later, led by Gary, his best man, and Ilaria’s dad, including one really special moment, as the couple shared the gender of their next baby during the groom’s speech.
There was no first dance and no pressure to perform, just good food, conversation, and a genuine sense of togetherness as everyone sat down for dinner. A really lovely day, in a place I’ll never get tired of photographing.
